Bacterial resistance is a major problem throughout the world and there are already certain conditions that are difficult to treat. To do your part in preventing bacterial resistance:
1. follow your doctor's orders when it comes to antibiotics, and finish the entire course if directed to do so.
2. don't use another person's prescription medicines.
3. do not 'save' antibiotics for another time; if you are told to stop taking them, dispose of the excess.
4. don't ask for antibiotics if your doctor hasn't given them. If the symptoms persist and are causing you and your loved one discomfort, visit the doctor again.
