5 Step to Be a Good Student

1. Motivation.

To become a good student, you need to get motivated! Motivation can come from seeing the situation of many poor children around the world who are not lucky enough to get a proper education. Keep that in mind when you don't want to attend class or study at home. Another reason to get motivated to study is that you will enjoy a better quality of life as an educated person. You can go to educational websites, like this one, and surf them with interest. You must not force yourself to study, as this will make learning a chore and you will not feel like even opening your books. You will have many academically good students in your courses. Try becoming friends with them (or encourage your current friends to be better students), and you'll be immersed in an academic environment which will help you feel motivated!

2. Concentration On Study.
You need to pay attention in class. Don't start chatting with your peers/friends when the teacher turns their back to you. Even better; don't associate with distracting people. You should realize that the people in your class play an important role in how everybody progresses. However, if you are a good student you will do better and achieve your goals. Your friends will be there for you at that time, if they are trustful and of a good reputation. At home, study and do your homework in a place that doesn't make you sleep. It is advisable to have a dedicated study table or desk. Don't do your study work on the bed or in front of the TV, radio, stereo, etc. That would be pointless because you are meant to be thinking about your studies.
If you feel distracted, take a short break of 15 minutes or less, maybe try to read an unrelated story book. But don't start sticking to the book if the time limit is over. Book mark the page and then you can read it later on. You should also have a daily routine/timetable to guide you, but you must follow it through.

3. Behavior.
One of the main things that decides a person's or child's future is their behavior. Learning textbooks and achieving 100% is not enough. People should think that you are the only all-rounder that has good manners. Obey your elders, don't bully your classmates at school. Remember, try imagining yourself in the other person's situation, and you'll know how much you hurt them with your actions. Say hello to your teachers and schoolmates when you see them, people will appreciate your friendliness and be friendly in return. Use good manners in class. Raise your hand, don't interrupt if someone is speaking, and if you don't have a nice thing to say, then don't say anything at all.
Above all, try helping your friends in any situation and you'll be remembered as one of the best friends at school! Don't just do it for a good reputation, but for a good future and for yourself. You should also know that words from your mouth are enough to break relationships (or worse) so don't utter foul, discouraging, or insulting words. If someone is being rude, don't encourage them by laughing because that only makes them continue in their bad behavior.
Don't take this as a lecture, but as a guideline! Behavior should be first and then comes academics. Even if you aren't good at school, you'll be famous for your behavior, and good friends are truly worth more than gold.

4. Management.
This is one of the many questions that children ask their teachers, "Ma'am, I can't study!". Let's ponder on these things : Are you devoted to studying? Are you just studying for your parents? Are you just cheating in exams for getting good grades and marks? The list goes on.
First of all, as mentioned above, study somewhere that has a basic study table. Don't study or read in dim light. If you become bored on learning one subject, study something else that interests you a lot. You must always find alternatives as you go!
We all know the saying,"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". Yes, studying all night and not playing just stresses you on work and you'll forget everything the next morning. Play out for about 2 hours or so. It will be pleasant if you go out to play around in the evening, say 5 pm in the evening. This energizes you and gives you extra strength for everything you do.
Make a timetable. And that is all what this section is about. Arrange a time-table with the subjects that are tough for you in the first column. Then put a break column after every 2 subjects so you don't get strained. Of all, try getting a good sleep. Children are supposed to get 8 - 10 hours sleep. If you don't get enough sleep, that will result in sleepy studying and nothing will get inside your head.
Study on each subject for about 1 hour. You'll get refreshed. Also have a snack in between.

5. Helping others and advising.
Apart from improving yourself, try spreading your skills among others. This is the section that provides you with all the things necessary in sharing your skills. Co-operation is helping each other out so everyone benefits, it's the opposite of competing, where everyone wants to win for themselves. Most learning is done with the help of others, so learning to cooperate is a valuable skill for anyone. Study partners are a wonderful tool. They save time and they help reinforce what you have learned. Divide a reading assignment in half. Study your section using any and all note taking strategies you have (e.g., Venn diagrams, outlines, note cards, coloured highlighters). When you both have an understanding of your readings, take turns 'teaching/explaining' it to the other person. As you adjust your explanation to your partner, you will reinforce the concept for yourself. It works because as you think about how to explain the topic, you must understand it first! Teachers like students who have a bit extra knowledge. To gain this knowledge visit libraries to read extra books. If you are confused by a book you are reading, ask your teacher. It really helps.

Conclusion - You need to be successful in all classes and not mess about talking to friends and keep to the school rules. You can achieve things by setting targets for yourself and working towards them. Nobody is perfect in every subject. You have strengths and weaknesses that you have to accept. As long as you try hard every day, you will be successful. Sometimes success is just going to bed at night knowing you did the very best you could do. That's all anyone can ask of you.

How To Dress For a Job Interview

Wear a suit

Wear a navy blue, black or dark grey suit is preferable.

If you can, purchase at least two new suits that you will be able to wear for the first two interviews with the same organization. If it's not in your budget to purchase suits prior to interviews, take one out from your closet - preferably one right from the dry cleaners and take a close look at the suit looking for frays, loose buttons and that shiny look some suits get when they've been ironed too much.  Inspect the seat on the slacks, inner thighs and the top of the thighs looking for wear or shine.  Inspect your jacket and look at the lapels and shoulders for wear or shine.

Wear a white shirt

Why wear white? White is the perfect canvas for your suit and silk tie. It's that simple. Don't overly complicate the look. The shirts should be freshly pressed. Shirts can be straight collar, tab collar or button down.

Wear an appropriate silk necktie
Coordinating the necktie with the suit but don't try matching the suit. You are not going for the Al Capone look. The tie should be preferably made of silk with a small pattern.

For business, a gentleman's silk tie should be equally balanced to reflect first the organization and then the personality of person wearing it. Do not - and we cannot overemphasize this - do not wear cartoon ties or even symbol ties. Symbol ties have money signs, or stethoscopes or just about any symbol synonymous with an industry or profession. Neckties worn for interviews should not be loud or too colorful - stick with a conservative look. Some of the more popular necktie colors for interview clothing are blue ties and burgundy ties.  Once you know what color suit you'll be wearing, pick a tie and ask us if it goes - drop us a quick note. We would be more than happy to give you our opinion prior to your purchase.

Shoes
Yes - wear them, and stay away from loafers - too casual. Our recommended shoe is a lace up cap toe - in black. Please ensure that the shoes are clean, polished and do not have rounded heels or overly worn soles. These are all signs that you don't care and - if you don't care about yourself, you will probably care even less about the organization and it's employees.

Socks
Always stay with the basics - black. If you order a necktie from us, we will always include a free pair of black dress socks with your order - just in case.

Career Clothing
We feel that executives and professionals should very much look the part that they play. Appropriate corporate attire is an important element in everyone's careers.

Today, the reversal of the dot com dress style is evident in many more corporations, and not only in cities. We find that more and more suburban corporate parks have gone from khakis to suits. For positions from managers all the way up to boardroom directors, suits and more formal clothing is now very much required.

With the suit comes new challenges such as how to match. Again, we cannot stress this enough, your career clothing should be a harmoniously blended reflection of the industry you are in, your organization and personal style.

If you need further guidance concerning men's styles and assembling an appropriate career wardrobe, there are many books published on the subject that can assist you in defining your look - or, ask us!.

Selecting the right necktie
In selecting the right neckties - be careful not to overdress for the position. Yes, you can overdress, and the impression that is left is hard to overcome.

Let's assume that you wear an expensive designer suit and tie - now let's assume that this is your first job. What does that say about you and your attitude?

We believe the best guide in choosing the right necktie is starting with the price. Modesty counts - don't overspend.

Let us explain.

Our rule of thumb is, take your age and add the number of years of experience you have for the particular position you are applying for and multiply that by 2 - this quick calculation should give you the approximate maximum retail price of a tie.

This we feel is a very conservative approach to looking good, but not outside of the realm of possibilities.

So as an example - If you are 25 and have 5 years experience, you should not buy a tie that retails for more than about $60 dollars.

If you are 40 and have 15 years of experience, you should not buy a tie that retails for more than $110 dollars.

As we said, this is simply a guide, you should let your better judgment and your understanding of the corporate culture of the company you are interviewing be your final decision maker.

Basics in coordinating your neckties with your clothing.

Allow us to inspire you....here is a list of coordinating styles

In Conclusion Dressing appropriately depends very much on how carefully you craft your image.

Consider the following in this order:

1. Type of organization

2. Your position within the organization

3. Your general likes and dislikes

Of course you know that these three rules have no bearing on casual and social dressing... when it comes to that the one rule that applies is "have fun"

Make 4 easy changes in your daily life for a healthier and better you..

Tip 1 - Give Up Smoking.
you can almost hear the groan when this one makes the list ( yet again ). Here are the facts again - one cigarette approximately takes off 11 minutes of your life and smoke contains over 3000 chemicals, at least 50 of which are known and identified carcinogens ( cancer causing agent ). Only 15 percent of smoke is inhaled by the smoker while the rest of the 85 percent goes directly into the air to be inhaled by non voluntary nonsmokers. So, think of those around you when you next light up!

Tip 2 - Eat Your Vegetables And Fruits.
Turns out gradma does know best when she insists you finish your greens. One of the largest studies into diet and cancer - the Europe-wide EPIC study - found that eating just one extra portion of fruit and vegetables a day could cut your risk of dying early from any cause by 20 percent.

Tip 3 - Hug Away.
Hungging your lover ones don't just warm the heart, it can protect it too! A study by the University of north Carolina found that hugging your other half or loved ones for 20 second could lower blood pressure and reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol. High levels of cortisol have been linked to heart disease and other conditions such as diabetes.

Tip 4 - A Laugh A Day.
With the increasing demands on everyday life, it's becoming a challenge to laugh or have fun anymore. If you want better health you have to make an effort to find time to laugh every day. Studies have found that those with a positive attitude suffer less from conditions such as heart diases, so go on and have a good laugh to give your feel-good hormones a boost.
